Regional Staff Training Institute (Technical), ALL INDIA RADIO AND DOORDARSHAN, Bhubaneswar was commissioned on 17th July 2000. The institute is situated in Chandrasekharpur area near OMFED Chhak which is about 8km away from Bhubaneswar Railway Station. The institute occupies a sprawling lush green area of 10.05 acres in beautiful surroundings. This institute has been established with primary objective of imparting training to the engineering staff members of AIR and Doordarshan in the cadres of Asst.Station Engineers, Asst. Engineers. Senior Engineering Assistants, Engineering Assistants, Senior Technicians, Technicians & Helpers in the ever-changing broadcast field. 

The Institute is already earning revenue by letting out infrastructure facilities of RSTI(T) viz., lecture halls & Hostel Rooms to various Govt. and Other Agencies. The Institute is also planning to generate additional revenue by conducting courses relevant to Engineering College faculty namely Satellite Broadcasting, Communication Technology and Digital Technology etc. and also holding summer vacation course for the engineering college students as there is a great demand for the same.
